This is supposed to be the season of love, giving, sharing, and coming together. The Christmas Break is upon us in just a few days and already I am receiving calls from parents whose child's other parent is threatening to withhold the child over the Christmas holidays. It is, unfortunately, usually the Mother, but sometimes the Father. Mothers and Fathers are supposed to love and cherish their children, protecting and nurturing them. Using your child as a blunt weapon to hurt the other parent hurts one person- your child. Stop it. Remember the happy memories of Christmas from your childhood? Please do not deny your child those same happy memories.

Happy Thanksgiving! This year is so different than all those before. We cannot celebrate with friends and family like we usually do. Please look out for those you love. Watch for signs that he or she may need help. Men can be victims of domestic violence, too. Lend a helping hand or a strong shoulder. This pandemic has increased pressure on everyone. For a relationship that already involved violence or abuse, whether the abuse is physical or emotional, that pressure may be unbearable. We are all in this together.
