EXCITING NEWS FOR LMFT'S!! If you have billed BCBS's AHS plan in the last year, you might have received an unexpected surprise today on your Remittance statement! We at MAMFT have been working hard to advocate for you as an LMFT, and we have had some major successes in the last couple of months! The AHS (State Health Plan of Mississippi) has agreed to contract with LMFT's in Mississippi! While they work to develop a contract and get the system set up for credentialing appli...cations, they have re-classified LMFT's in their system so that all claims will process at the IN NETWORK Benefit level! And because the AHS recognized that LMFT's were qualified to provide services and that we had been working on this effort for years, they also very kindly agreed to RETROACTIVELY reprocess claims at the NETWORK benefit level from January 1, 2020! This is amazing news for LMFT's in Mississippi and we are very grateful to the representatives at AHS for hearing our request and realizing the importance for their members to have more access to quality mental health care!
