I did a thing: I acquired the remaining inventory from a piano store. I’ll eventually be offering these pianos for sale, hopefully posting pics of these instrum...ents in the weeks to come. As a piano tuner/tech, my greatest desire is to encourage people to play, to make music, so I’ll only offer pianos for sale that I can stand behind.
When I turn 114 years old, I have I’m as good looking and functional as this ol’ girl

While tuning for a church in Oklahoma yesterday, my thoughts turned to the Christmas story as told in Luke 2 - particularly, the no room in the inn section. I remembered a song I had written years ago, and hastily recorded the song (one take, no rehearsal, scratchy voice, missed chord changes). Here are the lyrics. Merry Christmas!... A Place In The Heart There’s a knock at my door, who could it be, Said the innkeepers wife with a sigh. Every room is now bursting at the seams, There’s hardly space for my family and I. It’s a man and his wife, and she’s heavy with child, Oh, I just can’t turn them away. There’s a stable out back, at least it’s warm and it’s dry, You’re more than welcome to stay. Then the Carpenter fell at the innkeepers feet, begging for some place inside: I’ve never delivered a baby before - much less, the Son of the Lord most high. And the innkeeper said, we’ll go start the hot water, And my wife will assist, and we’ll do everything we can do; But it hurts me to say, there just isn’t any space For your wife, your baby, and you. Instrumental Bridge And the innkeeper’s wife would remember All the sweat and the pain of a mother-to-be, She cried out in disgrace, There must be a place for this baby. This sweet little baby. [Brief Pause] Now the innkeeper’s widow, thirty years down the line, Stands up to answer the door. She remembers the shepherds, and the star shining bright, And her convictions are stronger than ever before. It’s the Carpenter’s Son, He must have come To give this old woman her due. He said, When there was no room in the inn, You made a place in your heart, And I’ll make a place for you.
