We continue to have a very high number of people of all ages hospitalized for COVID-19. Upwards of 150 a day enter a Mississippi hospital with serious COVID-19 ...illness. Most are not vaccinated, which means their recovery will be longer and more difficult, or may not happen at all. But we're seeing strong progress in vaccinations, which means that more Mississippians will dramatically lower their risk of hospitalization and death from COVID-19. If you've already had COVID-19, vaccination can still ensure that your protection is the highest it can be. Vaccinations are free. The Survivorship Program focuses on healthy lifestyle choices to support recovery from cancer, and overall physical and mental health. The program is open to any Mississippian who has finished primary cancer treatment, or is continuing long-term maintenance therapy.
